Data sources

WHOIS data is obtained from public registry and registrar WHOIS servers. RDAP data comes from registry and regional internet registry endpoints. DNS records are returned by public DNS resolution. IP network details combine RDAP, public geolocation data and reverse DNS.

Caching

Some results are cached briefly to improve speed and reduce requests to upstream services. Cached results can differ from live registry or DNS data.

Important limits

WHOIS data may be redacted. IP geolocation is approximate. DNS answers can vary by resolver, location and TTL. For critical decisions, verify information with the registrar, authoritative name servers or relevant registry.
